'ART NOUVEAU' MODEL
 |
This is one of the most unique and original flute designs available.
While still a Boehm system flute, each key is hand wrought from sterling
silver stock into an Art Nouveau leaf pattern design that is both practical
and gracefully artistic. Being hammer hardened also makes it lightweight,
strong and very comfortable. Because each one is individually designed,
no two Vanguard flutes are identical. This truly handcrafted instrument
must be seen to be really understood and appreciated. Click on the

LUNN THUMB WING
 |
By curving the B wing below the cup and Bb spatula, the thumb has better
support under the flute and a more comfortable slide between keys. By being
flexible, it allows for a more relaxed thumb and left hand position all
around. |
FRONT F/B CONNECTOR
 |
On most Boehm flutes, there is a large 2 level cork adjustment system
under the trill rod connecting the left and right hand mechanisms together.
Because it strikes the body of the flute, it tends to be noisy, weighty,
and frequently out of adjustment. Our F/B connector is a simple adjustment
lug that runs discretely under the Bb shake lever and adjusts directly
over the F pointed arm. This system is light, quiet and stays in adjustment
longer than any other Bb connector. |
INTEGRAL SPLIT E MECHANISM
 |
Because there is no back connector on Lunn flutes, our split E mechanism
runs discretely under the trill rod to operate the lower G cup and arm
from behind. It eliminates clearance problems and the need for any clumsy
arms and bridges on the right hand. It operates quietly and smoothly on
both inline and offset model flutes. |
GIZMO & LOW D/C TRILL KEY
 |
With the gizmo moved closer over the D# lever, this new trill idea
allows you to trill the low C without having to touch the roller. However,
it can only be adapted on an Angled Footjoint because the reach would be
too far on any other design and would conflict with the gizmo. |
ANGLED FOOTJOINT CLUSTER©
 |
This mechanism brings the footjoint keys closer to the right hand by
angling the rollers towards the finger. This converts the awkward operation
of the rollers into a simple straight extension for all fingerings. It
also eliminates the need for a D# roller and the tendency to rotate the
wrist while trying to reach the low notes. |
CONVERTIBLE C/B FOOTJOINT
 |
This 2 piece footjoint allows you to play either a B or a C footjoint
depending on how it is assembled. It has many advantages. If weight is
an issue for you, the C foot is lighter and the B can be assembed only
when you have music requiring it. You may also prefer the cleaner accoustic
of the C foot for most music but need the B on some occasions. |
