Janet Lunn, author of the l998 Governor General's Award for Children's Literature for her historical novel THE HOLLOW TREE (among many other awards), is one of Canada's best-known writers for children. Her first book, DOUBLE SPELL, was published in l968. Since then Mrs. Lunn has written twenty books among which are picture books, novels and a history of Canada, THE STORY OF CANADA (co-authored with Christopher Moore).

As the online author visit program gets underway, Mom will join me for a series of online visits.
One of the many reasons these visits will be so special is that Janet isn't touring many schools anymore so this may be the best opportunity for kids to meet with her.

During her visits, you can take a trip to the actual house where THE ROOT CELLAR takes place, see what Toronto looked like in 1837, and ask her about her experiences as a writer.

If you'd like your class to be part of one of these special online visits, please reserve soon.
